The brighter the vocal though, the more it sounds like their throats are hurting on those high notes in the C5 and above range. Therefore, I make them sound "older." I currently use a Gen Factor/Character Parameter setting of 35 on both Rin/Len (hence the entire title).

It's just the weird, "over voice acted" quality they have? I don't know how to explain it but it's more prevalent in Len's voice. I feel like the fanbase states "if they don't sound squeaky, then that's not Rin/Len!" I also understand that the Eastern VOCALOID fanbase, (specifically the example Angel gave me) seems to prefer brighter vocals. They do sound unrealistic by comparison with other voice acted banks.

Everyone stated they sounded like chipminks, and I (mostly) of agree. Kagamine Rin and Len continue to express in new ways even reaching as far as their 12th anniversary. Note, these people had never heard about VOCALOID, or barely knew what it was. In early January, KAITO V3s voicebanks were completed and were set to be released mid-February 2013. However it was unknown if they would be updated to VOCALOID2 or VOCALOID3. This is something that has come into my mind after asking a bunch of people I knew about how their vocals sound. In December 2010, Crpyton officially announced that they were planning on updating their older VOCALOID vocals. Also this applies to all bright voice acted vocals mostly) Also this could apply to all voice acted vocals. Not sure whether I should have commented or not.
